The course will cover the standard theorem and application of calculus for vector function and function of several variables.

The text that will be used is:

Salas, Hille, Etgen., ** Calculus, one and several variables,** Ninth Edition , John Wiley and Sons, Inc., 2003.

We will cover chapters 13-17 of the book. The detailed description of the topics is the following:

- Vector Calculus, parametric curves and motions, Sections 13.1-13.7, 6 lectures

- Functions of several variables, visualization and partial differentiation, Sections 14.1-14.6, 6 lectures

- Gradients, optimazation, differentials, Sections 15.1-15.9, 10 lectures

- Double and triple integrals, Sections 16.1-16.10, 10 lectures

- Vector analysis, line integrals, surface integrals, Sections 17.1-17.10, 10 lectures

Quizz 1: solution and results.

There will be three test scheduled on September 17, October 10 and November 10.

Every other week on Thursday there will be a quizz during recitation hour. The final grade will be computed on the following base: final 40%, tests 35%, quizzes 25%. As usual the worst quizz score will be dropped.
